Climbing Routes on Jebel Kawr North (Oman) – an Overview

The routes on Jebel Kawr North are located opposite of Jebel Misht South Face in the Western Hajar mountain range. As getting informations about this fantastic climbing spot is not easy I will give here some basic informations about the known climbing routes.

Good to know: All the routes are in shadow during the day!

Approach: Drive from K`Saw towards Al Ayn and follow the sign-posted track to the small village of „Al Khumaira“ (4WD is necessary!). From Al Khumaira you can spot the so called „Said Wall“ just above the village, for the other routes of „Al Khumaira Wall“ you have to walk to the right of the village (1 – 1,5h).

Said is the head of the small village of Al Khumaira and a very hospitable old man.

Descent for „Said Wall“: scramble down to the West (follow Stone Man)

Descent for the „Al Khumaira Wall“: there are two possibilities: 1) abseiling down the route „Al Khumaira“, bolted anchors in place or 2) abseil and scramble down the gorge in direction east (Stone Man mark the start of the abseiling).
