On 11/03/2020 I went alone to repeat the very beautyful “Zsigmondy-Couloir” on the Zsigmondykopf (Sexten Dolomites).
The route was found and opened by Hannes Pfeifhofer & Hannes Egarter in January 2020 (45°, M5, WI4+, 600m). Chapeau!
The crux pitch (M5) was a bit delicate but the main challenge was indeed the abseiling. As I went alone I only brought 40m of rope – for 600m of descent… making the abseiling a bit “interesting” and time-consuming. All in all a great day out in the mountains!
